These sceneries are free and for the enjoyment of my fellow
Flsimmers and can be distributed freely without charge and
uploaded to any BBS, FTP or CompuServe accompanied by all the
documents that come with the package.
They should not be altered and cannot be incorporated into
other shareware or freeware programs or published on CD ROM
without my written permission anywhere in the World, and that
includes Europe. I repeat DO NOT publish on CD ROM without
my written permission.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FS5.1 BGL SCENERIES FOR ITALY and include Sicily, Corsica (Fr), Sardegna,
Pantelleria, Lampedusa, Malta (Ind) and the smaller italian islands in
the area. They also include parts of Croatia, Austria, Switzerland and France.
SWITZERLAND:
~~~~~~~~~~~
I did some necessitated changes to my SWITZ4.ZIP which was uploaded with
FRANCE4.ZIP. Please replace it with this version which I called SWITZ4A.ZIP.
Switz4a.bgl is occupying the space taken by BAO's EUROPE1.BGL, so do not
load it if EUROPE1 is active.
CHE COSA AVETE:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
>SCENARI BGL PER FS5.1 DELL'ITALIA che includono la Sicilia, Corsica (Fr),
>Sardinia, Pantelleria, Lampedusa, Malta (Ind) e le piccole isole italiane.
>Ci sono pure parti della Croatia, Austria, Svizzera e Francia.
This package contains the following files: (The number at the end is Ver. No.)
FILE DESCRIPTION WHERE DOES IT GO
-------------------------------------------------------
IT-APT2. BGL - ITALIA-AIRPORTS \FS51\EURO-S\SCENERY
IT-NAV2. BGL - ITALIA-VOR AND NDB \FS51\EURO-S\SCENERY
- Please note that I have less BGL's in this version than in ver. 1.
Delete all the ones that came with ITALIA1
- SWITZ4A: replace the SWITZ4 which I uploaded with FRANCE4.ZIP
The following files can be copied to \FS51\EURO-S subdirectory:
ITALIA2 .DOC - This doc you're reading
MALTA2 .DOC - Information about MALTA
IT-APT2 .LST - All the Airports found in these Sceneries
IT-ATI2 .LST - All the ATIS found in these Sceneries
IT-ILS2 .LST - All the ILS's found in these Sceneries
IT-NDB2 .LST - All the NDB's found in these Sceneries
Compuserve and many BBS world wide.
Delete all my previous IT*.BGL's, SW*.BGL and the MALTA?.BGL and replace
them with these files.
<<<<IMPORTANT>>>>:
These files are self contained. EURBGL by Enrico Schiratti must be moved
to a \TEMP subdirectory before flying. I put the VOR and NDB only in the
IT-NAV2.BGL in case someone would come out with an all Europe nav file in
which case all you'd have to do is replace that file only.
MAP FUND
^^^^^^^^
Some maps were donated some had to be bought. I need you to help me with
the expenses of maps and other related long distance charges etc. Just
slip in few dollars in an envelope to help these out of pocket expenses, they
can add up and can become too much for me to handle. Of course, do not
feel obliged to do so. Thanks to those who have contributed already.
Of course, do not feel obliged to do so.
Please send any contributions for the map fund to the address below.
Your satisfaction and kind messages paid for the time I spend on building
these sceneries which add up to hundreds of hours.
I T A L I A :
~~~~~~~~~~~
A Country of natural beauty, history, art, literature, the Mother of several
geniuses: Michelangelo, Bernini, Rafaello, Dante, Manzoni; the Country of
warmth. The Country which together with France and Spain, has one of the
three most beautiful languages in the World. Italia, the land of good food:
Spaghetti, Lasagna, Pasta asciutta, Pizza, Ravioli.... oh! mamma mia!
Italy is loaded with majestic cities which hold some of the best artistic
works in the world. The churches, Castles, Museums, are unique. A perfect
blend of old and new is found throughout the nation. Milano, Torino, Firenze,
Bologna, Napoli, Palermo, Venezia, Genova,....... they all have something to
say about history.
No I did not forget ROMA. Roma is unique, colossal, eternal. All you have
to do is ask HISTORY what is Roma; the answer will be: GLORY, GLORY, GLORY.
I visited Roma and left it with tears in my eyes. I will never forget it.
<< .... E se chi sei io chieggo,
rispondemi la Voce della Storia:
"É Gloria, Gloria, Gloria" >>
COVERAGE: These sceneries cover from LAT N50:00 to N43:00
^^^^^^^^ LON E20:00 to E06:00
DOCUMENTS USED: TPC Maps published by the Defense Mapping Agency Aerospace
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Centre, U.S. Government; (Current Editions)
Carte Aéronautique #3 Marseille and Jeppesen approach plates
for France and Corsica (Corse) (April 1990) provided by
Olivier Briot of Montpellier France.
Maps and Brochures provided by the Italian General Consulate
office in Montreal and the Maltese General Consulate office
in Toronto.
Various other brochures and travel maps.
AND FINALLY, THANK YOU to:
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
MicroSoft and BAO for the super wonderful program they gave us.
The Italian Consulate office in Montreal for the excellent brochures they
provided me with.
The Maltese Consul General MILO VASSALLO in Toronto for some of the
brochures he supplied me of my own Homeland, MALTA.
To OLIVIER BRIOT of Montpellier, France for the Maps and info on Corse and
for the FSC program which made it possible to use less bgl files.
ENNO F. BORGSTEEDE for his BGLGEN used for the navs.
To ALLAN SAGE of Etobicoke, Ontario for beta testing the scenery for me.
HARRY ZANIN of Etobicoke, Ontario for some NAV maps he lent me.
To ANDREA PACE from Rome for the list of ATIS he provided.
To my sweet teenage son Martin for numbering my grid files and finding
positions for me.
To all those who will let me know about errori (mistakes) in this scenery.
To all those who have encouraged me.
To all of you, GRAZIE!
A brief lesson in Italian pronunciation:
(Italians can skip this section)
---------------------------------------
(To avoid any misunderstanding when contacting the Tower)
A is pronounced same like "far" in English, ALWAYS
E is pronounced same like "bell" in English, ALWAYS
I is pronounced same like "sleep" in English, ALWAYS
O is pronounced same like "saw" in English, ALWAYS
U is pronounced same like "move" in English, ALWAYS
The "C" in front of A, O, U is pronounced like Cat in English ALWAYS
The "C" in front of E, I is pronounced like Church in English ALWAYS
The "CH" in front of E, I is pronounced like Cat in English ALWAYS
The "G" in front of A, O, U is pronounced like Glass in English ALWAYS
The "G" in front of E, I is pronounced like Gentle in English ALWAYS
The "GH" in front of E, I is pronounced like Get in English ALWAYS
I emphasize ALWAYS, because there are no exceptions to the rule.
The vowels are pronounced smooth: E is E not EI (say GET and leave the T out)
O is O (saw) not OW like the English SO (say SAW).
The Italian language is smooth, delicate, beautiful..... and if you are
wondering, no, I am not Italian.... but I know the language and I love it.
The majority of Italian people in Canada speak in dialect so to listen to the
proper language you have to listen to an Italian Radio or TV station.
My motto is: "LET'S COVER THE WHOLE FS5 WORLD". Here is another huge area
of beautiful Europe covered.
To all of you, thank you e grazie!
Enjoy and happy flying!

These sceneries are all synthetic sceneries. They may slow down
your frame rate a bit but I guess it's worthed to be able to see
all the rivers, cities and mountains of the area. Yes, let's fly
VFR!!!
With your help and encouragement, I can build more. Thanks.
Alfred.
